Opportunity for African Bloggers who want to change the world- Zeitgeist Young Minds Competition

The Zeitgeist Young Minds Competition by Livity in partnership with Google offer a lifetime opportunity for 10 young minds, pioneers, innovators, change-makers and leaders of tomorrow aged 18 – 24 across Africa (South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, Tunisia), Europe and Middle East, to Join World’s Top Innovators and Leaders at Google Zeitgeist 2012. The completion is not specifically for bloggers but bloggers are changing the world in their own way and should fit well for this competition.
The competition is open for young minds age 18-24 from Africa, Europe and Middle East, who are changing the world in their own little way in science, the arts, education, innovation or inspiration. The part of Education (for education bloggers), Inspiration (for personal development and career bloggers) and innovation (for technology knowledgeable bloggers) approves for creative bloggers to fit into this competition.
Previous Young Minds finalists won an experience of a lifetime, from meeting Chelsea Clinton and Will I Am, to taking part in panel discussions with Jon Snow and Martha Lane Fox (Co-founder Lastminute.com).

Selection Criteria
The judges will be looking for entries that use the following criteria: creativity, composition/production, overall impact relation to theme of ‘How you’re making a difference to the world?’, presentation and communication skills.
Prizes
- The 10 winners will automatically become Young Minds representatives and have the opportunity to attend the Zeitgeist event, meet and network with delegates and attendees. In the lead up to the event the winners will each take part in a series of weekly promotional activities for up to a maximum of 4 weeks. All winners will be required to commit to these activities and may forfeit their place at Zeitgeist EMEA 2012 if they are unable to commit to all activities.
- All Young Minds winners will be invited to an evening dinner the night before the Zeitgeist event with all delegates and attendees.
- The winners will take part in workshops sessions at Zeitgeist with the Promoter and Google.
- The Promoter will arrange for accommodation and transport.
How to Enter
The Zeitgeist Young Minds is a video completion where each entrant simply creates and uploads a 60 seconds video to YouTube to tell us how you are making a positive impact on the world. If you have not been a comfortable video blogger, this might be a chance to give it a shot. After all, you have nothing to lose but the experience, exposure and possibly a win to gain.
You can enter the Competition online by uploading a one-minute video in English (videos over one minute 30 seconds will be disqualified) to the Young Minds YouTube page.
Your Competition entry can be in any format or style in the theme of ‘How you’re making difference to the world’ and that is suitable for YouTube i.e. a video, images and sound. You can structure your competition entry how you like, but be clear and in English.
