Are you making changing that will help you blog better and achieve your blogging goals? Talking about changes, I’ve taken the step to change the domain name of my blog from blogwithiyke.com to blogerian.com. I’m doing this for several reasons some of which are:
- To easily expand on relevant topics relating to blogging, online business and online entrepreneurship
- To attract friends not just hit and run readers
- And most importantly to compel my desire for blog promotion.
In a little over one month of blogging on this niche, I’ve learnt much more from bloggers I’ve connected with about branding a blog. I’ve come to realize that though making your domain name keyword rich is a good practice, it’s a lot more important to make it more human than technical.
Although this has cost me loss of backlinks I’ve built on other blogs (I’ve commented in more than 100 blogs), loss of tweet counts and Facebook shares, I think it’s a lot better to make changes that will help you achieve what you really want than to stick with old ideas so as not to lose.
Where the New name comes from?
It’s Blog With Iyke (Blog with Ikenna). I want to network and grow with you.
Does that change anything between us?
Not at all. I still maintain the purpose of creating this blog which is to experiment and share what I learn about blogging to make money and build an online business. In fact with this change, I think I’ll be doing it a lot better as it’s part of my experimental way of doing things.
What do you think of latest change?
To success!

That’s good to hear. I am using Hatchling plan on hostgator and can’t redirect old domain to new one. unless I upgrade to baby plan. Unfortunately, My debitcard has less than the required amount to upgrade. I’ve configured my domain to blogger so that visitors from the old domain can land on a real page and be notified of my change. I don’t have a better choose in this case. Thanks for your concern dude.

Is there a way you can redirect your old domain name to new one?
Ikenna Odinaka says
Hi Vinnet,
Yes there is. Just that the plan I’m currently using (Hatchling plan) on hostgator does not allow use of more than one domain in the account, unless I upgrade to baby plan. My only means of online payment (payoneer mastercard) is down on fund to pay for upgrade, and there doesn’t seem to be a quick way to fund it except through the merchant (infolinks).
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Iyke:
It was a good thing you changed the name of your blog and domain name – helps readers to be sure of your direction, and also the search engines too.
This new name is general enough to allow you to venture into various areras until you discover your best fit.
I look forward to reading more posts from you.
