Like me, you would have, so many times, watched WWBM: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, that Sunday-Sunday MTN show in Nigeria.
There is one thing I like about the show which is the ‘lifeline’ system being used.
The answers provided by the people in the lifeline do not stand helpful all the time. But, most often, the backup responses are quite useful in making a participant scale through a difficult question and even in winning bigger.
I want to share with you today about the one step you can take this year to lift off the heavy elephant placed on you through the year 2015 until now and that got you stuck at one spot in spite of your warm desire to make necessary life and business progresses in that year.
As revealed by one of the past presidents of the Coca-Cola Company, the number one skill for achieving success is very easy to learn and to do as a matter of few minutes.
Someone asked him the number one skill.
- Spending money
- Setting and following set goals
- Communicating well
- Committing to strategies
- Networking
No!
None of those suggested responses could stand out as the answer to the question.
The company president stated that the…
“Ability to ask for help” is the number one skill for reaching success even for his company.
Robert Maurer, the author of One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way emphasizes the importance of making effectively great and enduring changes based on taking small steps. Key among the steps, as I have learned since a long time is asking for help of other people to attract the progress one deserves.
No one is an island, they say.
And with the changing faces of social connections, I am sure we will continue to easily and quickly seek and find whatever possible help we want from other people.
If we care to make use of today’s technology in finding helps, I believe that we will be able to find ready helps so quickly just like the case of the WWBM participants and the people in their lifeline.
If you have been so attentive, you would have heard before that the people who are successful really reached their heights by actively seeking out the right network.
Evidently, what I see going around – being exchanged – in different networks are mostly HELPS.
You may not have particularly woven the need for lifeline people, products or services into your life business resolutions for this new year. This is why I share this message with you here as something to consider now for making the new year a superb one.
I will share with you later how to go practical about seeking help in today’s manner. This is as easy as cutting a cake.
Have a fantastic year 2016!
